COPELAND ELEMENTARY PTO

WELCOMES OUR 2025 -2026 COLTS

Dear Copeland Families,

Welcome to the 2025–26 school year!

I’m Laurie Alexander, mom to two amazing girls—a proud Copeland Colt alum who’s now thriving in 8th grade, and a spirited 3rd grader who’s full of energy and curiosity. I’m honored to be serving my third year as President of the Copeland PTO. Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure of serving as Fundraising Chair and an active PTO member, and I’ve truly loved being part of this vibrant, supportive school community.

Copeland has a long-standing tradition of strong family involvement, and I’m excited to continue building on that legacy with your help this year.

Our mission as a PTO is simple but powerful: we aim to enrich the educational experience of every student at Copeland and support our incredible staff in every way we can. With your participation, we can fund meaningful programs, strengthen communication between home and school, and show our appreciation for the people who make Copeland so special—all while creating fun and connection for our families.

The easiest way to get involved? Become a PTO member!
Membership is just $15 for your entire family—no matter how many Colts you have at Copeland. Your membership helps fund important programs, gives you access to our PTO directory, ensures you receive our newsletter with school updates and event info, and gets you discounted tickets to PTO-sponsored events throughout the year. Click here to join now.

In addition to memberships, we host two main fundraisers each year: a catalog/online sale in the fall and a direct donation drive in the spring. This spring’s fundraiser will include a fun-filled celebration day to thank our students and families for their support! The funds raised will help us provide things like:

  • Field trips for all grade levels

  • In-school assemblies and programs

  • Library and technology enhancement

  • More playground shade structures and trees

  • And so much more!

But even more valuable than fundraising is your time and involvement. Whether you have a few hours a week or just a little time here and there, whether you can help from home or on campus—there’s a place for you in the PTO. Every skill, every hand, every idea makes a difference. We welcome parents, grandparents, caregivers, and community members to get involved in any way you can. Together, we can make a lasting impact on the Copeland experience for our students and staff.

Thank you for being part of the Copeland family—whether you’re returning or joining us for the first time. Your support, in any form, helps us continue building a strong, connected, and joyful school community. I can’t wait to see all we accomplish together this year!

With love,
Laurie Alexander
