COPELAND ELEMENTARY PTO
WELCOMES OUR 2024 -2025 COLTS
Dear Copeland Families,
I want to start by introducing myself, my name is Laurie Alexander. I am a mother of two wonderful daughters, a sensational 7th grade Colts Alumni and a spunky 2nd grader. I am very excited to be starting my 2nd year as the Copeland PTO President, in previous years I have served as Fundraising Chair, and a general PTO member for 5 years. We are extremely fortunate to have a proud history of parent involvement at Copeland and we hope to continue to build on this in the coming year.
The goal of the Copeland PTO is to enrich the education of our students and to support our staff in their efforts to do the same. With your help, we can provide amazing programs for our Colts, while helping to improve communication between school and home, showing appreciation to our administration and staff, and increasing parent involvement to enhance all aspects of our children’s education.
You can help most by first, simply becoming a member of the PTO! For only $15, your whole family gains membership (regardless of the number of students at Copeland). Your membership dollars help fund many programs here at Copeland, but it also has great benefits for your family. Membership grants you access to our PTO directory, ensures you receive our PTO newsletters to stay up to date with school news and events, and entitles you to discounted tickets to PTO events all year long! Click HERE to join now.
Along with our membership drive, we have two fundraisers per year, one in the fall and one in the spring, to help us meet our fundraising goals. This year the fundraisers will be a catalog/online sale in the fall and a direct donation drive in the spring, complete with a fabulous celebration day. Think of all the amazing things we can do with the funds raised: more canopies for our playground, exciting field trips for all K-5th graders, assemblies and presentations for kids, new library books, additional technology resources for the school and staff, and SO MUCH MORE!
More than the money, though, we want you to be INVOLVED. Copeland has worked hard to build an amazing community over the last 30+ years, and the PTO wants everyone to be a part of that. Whether you have one hour a month or 10 to give, whether you can volunteer at school or from home, we have opportunities to get involved for everyone. We all have unique skills that can be used to help our PTO to positively impact the lives of our students and staff. Parents, grandparents, family members, and members of our community are all welcome and encouraged to help where you can, when you can. We look forward to growing together into a larger and stronger community this year focused on supporting our amazing students in the education they receive at Copeland.
Thank you, thank you, thank you to each of you for returning as a Copeland PTO member or joining for the first time. Your contributions, great and small, are what help make Copeland the community and family it is. This year, the board looks forward to working with each of you, our amazing kids, and the Copeland administration and staff to make this the best year yet.
With Love,
Laurie Alexander
PTO President
