Hello Colt Families, we hope that you had a wonderful spring break spent full of fun! As you know we just finished our spring fundraiser a couple weeks ago and boy did our families and community show up in a big way! Together you raised $26,911 to benefit our wonderful school. To celebrate, all students participated in our Color Dash on March 20th and a fabulous time was had by all. We want to thank everyone who participated for your support; the funds raised this year are an integral part of our PTO's mission to fund the educational enhancements our children love like field trips, the garden program, special assemblies and so much more!
As we finish out the year we have a few more fun things in store you won't want to miss. We are super excited for our upcoming annual FREE Movie Night on Friday, April 10th. This year the playground will open at 5:30 pm and the movie will start at 6:30 pm. The students on the Principal's Advisory Committees helped to select this year's movie- Zootopia 2. Be sure to check out our website at http://copelandpto.org/ for additional event details and to pre-order dinner and concession stand tickets if you are interested. We look forward to seeing everyone and enjoying this fabulous community event together.
As always please feel free to reach out with any questions, suggestions, or ideas via email at CopelandPTO@gmail.com
Join us for our free community even to watch Zootopia 2. Bring a chair or a blanket and get comfy on the grass outside the school, and get ready for a good time. If you'd like to pre-order food visit this link PRE-ORDER FOOD
We will see you there!
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Always accepting time donations
The Color Dash was so much fun, and your willingness to volunteer helped make it a success. The kids had a blast celebrating all their hard work raising $26,911 dollars for our school! Thank you so much for helping make our school great!
Spirit Cart
Every month we host our awesome Spirit Cart that lets our kids practice handling and using money during their lunch times. Having over 900 students means we need ample adult hands to help them with this opportunity to make sure their precious dollars are used correctly and kept track of adequately. Please consider being those adult helping hands. Peruse our sign up to choose the time slot that works best with your schedule!
Thank you so much for all your help with science demos so far! There are several more Science Demos coming up at the end of March and even more in April and May! Please check out the sign up to see if you can help our kids experience hands-on science!
Our gardeners have been learning about perennial and annual plants, and how we get more plants year after year. They got to study our state flower, the bluebonnets, and learn how since they are annuals and do not keep growing year after year, their seeds will lay dormant all through the cold months so the new plants are ready to grow in the spring. Ask your colt about the difference of the two and see what they have to say!
Be sure to follow our Facebook and Instagram pages to see pictures and updates throughout the rest of the year.
If you'd like to join in the fun and help out while your student is in the garden, use the link to view open slots
for their incredible donation of compost to help our

HOSPITALITY
aka WE LOVE OUR COPELAND STAFF
In January we welcomed our Copeland staff back from winter break to a PARFAIT New Year with a yummy Yogurt Parfait Bar!
Then on Tuesday, February 17th we helped our Copeland staff “Let the Good Times Roll!” Volunteers and the PTO treated the staff to a variety of King Cakes, and other festive desserts, from various bakeries around the cypress area. A good time was had by all!
Diana is just beginning her journey at Copeland with a brand new Pre-K baby. Even with just the one precious girl, Ms. Sword volunteered the entire day at the Color Dash. She threw that colored powder from 8a until 3p and was purple from head to toe by the end. In her own words "I truly adore Copeland Elementary and everything they represent. From the moment we became a Colt, the teachers have been nothing short of amazing, caring, and dedicated . I have had such a great time volunteering and getting to know everyone as my daughter is in the beginning of her Copeland years. I look forward to many more events in future!"
We are so grateful for dedication like Diana's that makes sure not just her colt has a great time at events, but that every colt has a memorable experience. You make our school a magical place.
Please enjoy using the Volunteer of the Month parking spot from March 27- April 23!
