Happy Spring, Copeland families!

Well, here we are in the home stretch of the year. It’s past Spring Break, and this week we officially hit the spring season (in case your allergies hadn’t already let you know).
It’s an exciting time of year for our kids *and* our PTO! We have nominations open for multiple positions on our board! The deadline to submit nominations is March 31! These are the positions up for nomination:

·         President

·         Vice President

·         VP - Fundraising

·         VP - Cultural Arts (Coordinates Field Trips)

·         VIPS Liaison (Volunteer Coordinator)

·         Membership Liaison

·         Events Coordinator

·         Secretary

·         Treasurer

We also have a family favorite event coming up: Movie Night! Join us April 14 to watch Minions: The Rise of Gru on the big screen on the playground! We open early for our silent auction and concessions, and the movie will start at sunset! Also, this year we’ll have family night at the Book Fair prior to movie start time. It’s definitely a “Don’t Miss” night. I can neither confirm nor deny that we’ll have Astros tickets again this year (okay, I’ll confirm). But that’s not all. So many amazing auction items from local businesses and staff and families! We can’t WAIT for you to see it all!

The 3rd graders are gearing up for their spring garden! They learned how to harvest seeds from their plants and collected lots to take home. As the weather continues to warm up, we will be transitioning from the last of our fall plants to our spring garden which includes, tomatoes, squash, eggplant and green beans. 

Our next garden day April 4th.

Please help your student dress appropriately for garden days as we are outside and can get dirty.

Our trainings for the 22-23 school year have come to a close.

Thank you to all of you who went out of your way to get trained!  

We have 5 more Science demos to present before this school year ends, and 3 Science Resource Center Field trips for our younger grades! Thank you to all our parent volunteers who have signed up to help out with those! Check with your student's teacher if they are still needing chaperones. 

Demo trainings will start again in Septemberfor the 23-24 school year.  And I will post the schedule of trainings as soon as it is available!  And you can always check for SRC updates at online here. They do a few tours during the early summer and are always accepting supply donations to help with the care and feeding of all the animals!

Our Copeland Library is the heartbeat of our school, and we have a special family of volunteers who help keep it running! Our volunteers help students check out books and shelve the books for other students to enjoy. We'd love for you to join us. We'll have a training for all our new volunteers and get you on the schedule to help our wonderful students experience the joy of reading!

Does your student have a summer birthday or is the week of their birthday already filled up? You can choose any week that is still available.

Due to processing, payments must be made online or by cash to guarantee your spot on the birthday marquee. If you are paying by cash; complete this online form, choose the "pay later" option then submit the payment within two business days to the school, either to the front office or send it in with your student.
